Also known as “when concept stories eat your brain.” The last thing I need right now is a new project… what with NaNoWriMo slinking up right around the corner and all.
But the truth is, this year will be my final year of writing the big 50K. I look forward to finishing Dreigiau for once and for all. And with the closure of one project on the horizon, it was asked “So… what are you going to work on next? A story about your pre-Lunars (aka Runnians)?”
I kept brushing that one off purposely. I don’t really have a strong enough grasp of a full plot to entangle myself in working on it. And that had been my stance on it for a long time. But then… a random RP plot got me thinking about things I shouldn’t have. And figments started whispering ideas in my ears… and the next thing I know, I’m drawing concept art.
Darn it.
As I’ll say in my DA notes: Now… IF I do get up the inspiration to take on another project (which I probably shouldn’t), it won’t be another NaNoWriMo novel. I’m taking a break from that after eight years in a row. And it won’t be another comic — Shimmer has proven that that kind of update demand doesn’t get met at this point in my life. I’m fooling with a way to make it a blend of both. But I won’t say much more than that right now.
I’m considering options for what kind of project that my current free time will allow. I know that it won’t be a weekly scheduled thing (this piece of art alone took me three days to finish, working casually). I would like a project where I could work on high quality, full colored, full paged pieces. Not another comic. So I’m thinking of accompanying full art pieces with very short written passages in a comic press/blog type layout.
All of this is very rough in idea. But I still wanted to throw it out there for thoughts and ideas. So feel free to tell me what you’d be interested in!
