NOTE: The Authors were on vacation last week, so they left the Wayrift update in the hands of the figments — namely, our favorite Baronian Red Shirt, Junior. This is a three part comic triggered by the “Sword vs. Scythe” conversation located in the comments section on Chapter 42, Page 17. These pages will also contain references that poke fun at the original version of “Final Fantasy IV” and the PSP version of “Dissidia.” Our regularly scheduled comic will return next week. Enjoy!

Junior: This is for all those kind people who ruined my day today, suggesting that Mr. Tai and King Cecil should spar! Have you ever heard of “don’t shoot the messenger?” Well, apparently Queen Rosa and the Eblanian delegation that I had to explain this all to… didn’t! Ahh… well… Life of a redshirt.

Junior the red shirt lieutenant peon presents…

SWORDIE
Vs.
SCYTHIE

From the training room!

Presented in stick fighter Juniorvision for your pleasure!

The Scythe

The black blade DuLlafn wielded by his father Zento… most effective at longer and medium ranges… a heavy blow could likely cut through several enemies at once… especially in the hands of TsuYaTai.

The Sword

Classical weapon of knights and warriors throughout history. Good for both medium and short range fighting, the Paladin King has defeated many an enemy with his sword of light…

Tai: I win. The End.

BSC: No chopping off limbs now, Mr. Tai.

Tai: Why not? You have more than one arm and one leg.

BSC: At least I didn’t have a tail until the author revised you?

Tai: That better not go in the comic.

BSC: Oops… *swings his sword around and brings it in front of him to a guard position * Let’s see what you’re made of today, Mr. Tai.

Tai: You really don’t want to know. *narrows his eyes and crouches with his scythe*

BSC: *swings his sword to meet with Tai’s scythe*

Tai: *bounds back and flickers*

BSC: What the?
