NOTE: The Authors were on vacation last week, so they left the Wayrift update in the hands of the figments — namely, our favorite Baronian Red Shirt, Junior. This is a three part comic triggered by the “Sword vs. Scythe” conversation located in the comments section on Chapter 42, Page 17. These pages will also contain references that poke fun at the original version of “Final Fantasy IV” and the PSP version of “Dissidia.” Our regularly scheduled comic will return next week. Enjoy!
Zeb: *light and darkness surround him as his Dissidia meter appears — EX Burst “Twin Moon”* Guide my inner shadow! Light and Dark both…. Transcend the STARS!!!!! *meteo comes down*
BSC: Zeb! What does this look like to you? A ProfessorStationPortable game? This was a very important fight to our audience!
Tai: DORQ! I’m going to show you stars!
Zeb: *meteors pop and fizzle out — Epic Fail* Well… uh… you… see…
BSC: Well, Mr. Tai… I think we need to suspend our fight until next time…
Tai: Only because I don’t want to hurt your kingly reputation.
BSC: I wouldn’t want to have to send the Marked Champion home in tears.
Zeb: Umm… Can we talk about this?
BSC: I think we need a repeat of Mr. Walking hand. Or… Mr. Limping hand. *walks over and pops the inflatable Shadow Dragon on Zeb’s shoulder, then raises his sword* Beneath the Light! Judgment comes!
Tai: The power of the Moon compels me! *swings his scythe up*
Zeb: Two on one! NO FAIR!
*beating ensues from within the training room* AGGH! OWW! Watch the spikes!
Junior: So… thus ends the tale of sword or scythe. Which is truly better? The world may never know…
BSRosa: *sitting with Zazo*

I posted a link to a You Tube video in the script that shows Golbez’s Dissidia EX Burst “Twin Moon”. Yes, we’re poking fun at some of the corny sayings the fighters have in that game. Sorry if you like the game, it’s all in good fun.

As for the “hand” comments, that refers to a scene in the Final Fantasy IV game (see, we poke fun of that, too). After Golbez is defeated in the Underworld, he vanishes and all that is left is his… hand. Which promptly crawls up to the crystal and steals it (with all the heroes standing and staring, apparently). Never explained. Never made much sense.

when I got to that part, I was angry because I had to fight the puppets, then the giant puppet, then golbez and even after beat all of them up the stupid hand comes and steals the crystal anyways.

Also, I played Dissidia, and have to agree on the corniness of some of the lines.
As for one of the comments posted on the last comic, I know full well about insult fighting, I do it contantly on almost any game I play against other people. Its always joking around, and never meant to be serious. I make fun of things, its just what I do.
I… uh, don’t really use emoticons. So you should take what I say less seriously than it sounds. Nothing meant by it, sorry.
It is kind of hard to tell when people are joking or not in text without seeing a bunch of ‘lol’s, ‘rofl’s, etc. but I wasnt taking what you had said as being totally serious, mostly just arguing my point.
That being said, I usually defer to this —> Anything, and everything, can, and will, be made fun of. Constantly.

The thought of Zeb in Dissidia is awesome. I think he would totally kick ass! He would totally pwn the GOlbez that’s in the game!
His ExBurst quote should be something like “My aweome-ness will best you!” or something as corny as that. XD
Along with some of my friends we had to act out those lines….They were so corny we lol’d on the floor XD

heheheheh me and my friends always refer to Golbez’s alternate form as “Zeb” and his primary form as “ben” X3 because the blue suits ben, and the black and red suits zeb. but yeh, I have no problem believing that the golbez from dissidia is Zeb because of some of the stuff he says, he just seems to suit Zebs personality… like once I used golbez against Sephiroth, sephiroth said “I will never be a memory” and Golbez retorted “when Im through with you there will be nothing LEFT but a memory!” X3 which was epic. anyways, im not so sure that Golbez says “light and dark both” sounds more like “light and dark emerges” =P but thats just me.
