This week’s Screenshot Saturday features the Kneeling Side Plank from My Fitness Coach for the Wii. Though this blog is hardly a self-report or fitness type of blog, a certain SilverRogue asked me how things were going with my New Years resolutions and exercise regimen that I talked about in my first review of My Fitness Coach.

The answer is…

I admit I’ve been a bit of a slacker just lately. But I made up for it today by doing my Wii workout and I’m glad I did. It felt good to get back into the groove and Maya, the Fitness Coach trainer, didn’t hassle me for it. She’s pretty understanding.

However, despite my slacking, I’m happy to report the loss of another two and a half pounds over the past month. I’m going to chalk that up to work stress and really trying to watch what I eat. While I’m not dieting at all, I’m trying to stay away from fast food, eating many smaller meals throughout the day (which helps boost metabolism), and trying to incorporate more water, fruits and veggies into my diet. So far, I guess, so good.

Now let’s see if I can get on the ball this month and do even better.

Some common questions about My Fitness Coach

Do you need the Wii Fit to play My Fitness Coach?
No. My Fitness Coach is a completely stand alone game to Wii Fit. It does not require the balance board or Wii Fit to play. This is good for folks that don’t have the Wii Fit but want to try a solid alternative. On the other hand, this may be disappointing to Wii Fit owners who were looking for another fitness program that is compatible to the balance board.

How do you unlock more locations and music in My Fitness Coach?
Basic unlocks can be opened by just keeping a consistent schedule. However, the last unlocks only open when you prove to Mia that you’re making progress towards your goals (weight loss, etc.) You get a chance to show her your progress each time you take the Physical Challenge (which happens about every 10 workouts).
