Ben: *His wrists are shackled to either side of the wall, arms sretched wide, knees bound to the floor, a heavy collar chaining his neck downward so it is hard for him to lift his head… All of the shackles are heavily laced with magic-binding properties… but still (since he is in the Ways) his eyes glow deep green as he peers up in a very wicked, almost animalistic manner. The shadows that hover around him form the outline of dark Sygnus** wings…*
Definition:
** Sygnus- A child of the Heavens and the Earth… Sygnus is said to hold powers to rival even those of the Trine. Ben and Cecil both have the dormant blood of Sygnus within them due to their partial Arweinydd heritage (they are the grandchildren of Zemi Dreigiau).
**NOTES**
For those of you familiar to the concept of Ben’s Sygnus form (as revealed in the “Coming of the Darkstar” storyline), this is not the true Sygnus. The Ways are pulling on threads of reality and memory between both Leona and Ben’s minds to create this illusionary realm around them.
The Ways are also tied into the nature of Sygnus itself… thus creating a misrepresented image of the “reality” of Sygnus upon Ben. This is mostly due to Ben’s own skewed ideas in which he views himself. Ben believes that he is still a terrible “Dark Lord” who deserves to be punished for his past deeds, thus the reality of this world reflects this belief.
This is also one of the reasons Ben did not want Leona to follow him into the Ways… he’d rather not have her know the “truth” of his nature.
