Two of my most genuinely friendly characters have red eyes! T^T And one is a mage, and their eyes tend to glow when casting magic. Notably, the mage is an overly-innocent little kid who is hard to percieve as a threat. ^_^;;
…I think I made them like that to diliberately defy the idea of red eyes being evil, but somebody did that before me. In his story, red eyes have significance (not negative), but aren’t a big deal. Now, BROWN HAIR, that’s a sign of the apocalypse. Or that the person will turn into a complete monster. It makes sense in context.

I think she’s just in a petite form and Zemi’s just in a huge form. He’s extra big and she’s extra small, making the contrast really big. I love how intimidated he seems anyway.
