Kory: He took an interest in the young talent before the accident and move to Kaipo. Of all things, it’s ironic that he met his end at the hands of…
KY: *looks down* …at the hands of my son. *sighs*
Zemi: What?
Kory: Aiden… I didn’t mean it.
KY: The tales speak of Zebah fighting Tellah upon the tower of Zot. Tellah was able to land a wicked blow with the spell of Meteo, but he was too feeble to cast it without sacrificing his life.

*sniff* Poor Tellah…
On another note. That’s a really cool looking Meteo…

I’ll say it again… it would be cool to see and Aywren/Syn-style FFIV manga. Of course, I think they’ve got enough on their plate to work on. I have never seen the original Wayrift, so I don’t know how long this is going to go on, and it’s been ten years since this started, hasn’t it?
Actually, now I’m curious about the original Wayrift…
But, all that aside, I must concur. Poor Tellah… as much as it was annoying, having such limited MP and him being the only real mage on the team after getting the Enterprise… poor Tellah.

Years ago, long before Wayrift, I actually started a pencil-drawn comic that followed an indie ROM translation of FFIV. Never got very far with it, though.
Everything here is pretty much the original Wayrift, with the exception of the first few chapters that were re-written and re-drawn. You’re not missing much, though. We had no idea where we were going with the comic at that point, and it was mostly for our amusement. Later, when we realized this would be a more serious and on-going project, we decided to re-write the beginning to make more sense. I don’t know how successful it was, though. *laughs*

Thank you! Meteo is fun to paint!

But still, if you’re gonna go kamikaze a final blaze of 9999 damage is definetely one of the better ways to do it.

He definitely went down in history. Of course, that would be the only way Tellah would have it. ^_~

If all could be as self-sacrificial as Tellah, the world would be bathed so richly in benevolence that violence, hate, and war would be but the faintest of memories.
It is the stuff that paladins are made of too.

Really? I never played the game, but from what I can gather…
Yeah, you’re right. If everyone as revenge twisted as Tellah would go out in a blaze of glory like that, then there wouldn’t be anyone so vengeance starved to cause trouble. Might contribute to world peace!
Okay, so I’m just being silly. But on a more philosophical note… Tellah found himself duelling Golbez. What were the chances of him making it out alive anyway? I mean, was it bravery, or simple desperation?

Don’t worry; humor was noted!
In the game, Tellah was indeed seeking revenge, but also knew of the immense evil that the hypnotized Golbez threatened the world with. Given his Mysidian connections, it is safe to assume he knew of the legend, which is why he commented to Cecil as he did when they encountered each other trekking up the sacred mountain. I highly doubt Klu Ya would have released meteo if he thought Tellah unworthy.
Golbez was a hard nut to crack. Before releasing meteo, Tellah pummeled Golbez with level-3 magic spells, which did a pitiful amount. He knew his constitution was too weak, but knew that not only would Anna and Edward be avenged, but the world would be saved, so he conjured meteo. It broke Kain from the spell and even weakened Zemus’ spell on Golbez, at least for a moment, but I’d argue permanently.
The chances of them surviving was pretty close to nil. It was very brave of Tellah; it gave Cecil a chance to save Rosa (Tellah knew that) and for the rest of them to hopefully make it out alive themselves.

Pretty much this. Great job on explaining the history, Valer!
