I have pulled that stunt with both cats and dogs. The looks I got from the humans that saw me do it was priceless. You would have thought I stepped out of a textbook on unholy creatures. I could almost see them digging in purses and pockets for holy symbols and other defenses. The trick is simple, make yourself sound (and look) like a bigger badder badass.
