Location: BS Dimension, Troia
*Zazo sitting in an outdoor amphitheatre watching as the play begins, people watching from the grassy area at the foot of the stage*
Cecil: *(or so it appears to be Cecil) appears pointing his sword at where “Golbez” has “Rosa” tied to a wood pillar* In the name of love… I have come to destroy you and rescue the fair maid Rosa!

Welcome to Chapter 54! This is going to be a fun one! Change of location, pace and characters. Let’s see what Zazo’s up to!

Whatever it is, I already pity Tai.

^This.

Looks like she’s studying behavior from the wrong source…
I can see it now… Tai tied to a post while she ‘rescues’ him with a triumphant grin.

Luckily, even Zazo recognizes bad drama and writing when she sees it.
Well luved! Give More?

Well, she has bit of “WTF face”, so apparently she’s not buying it
On the other hand, she really needs to learn something about selflessness of love. From better sources, of course.
Well luved! Give More?

Thank. Goodness.

“And now we go back to our fair wolf maiden who is watching a drama…”
(For some reason I wanted to write a Soap Opera…! XD *dies*)
I adore Zazo’s expression here. :3 She looks so adorable…and confused. XD

Hmm… one does wonder, given the title of this chapter…

Yeah, this does not bode well. But, uh… it has to get worse before it gets better, right? Isn’t that one of the fundamental concepts behind Wayrift?
Give Luv:
4
If it doesn’t get silly first. You know that’s also one of the fundamental concepts.
Give Luv:
3
Sometimes it tries to do all three at once!
Give Luv:

And it succeeds.

Oh Zazo …

Silly fake Cecil. I’m pretty sure “fair maid” is supposed to describe a girl who’s pretty, but I don’t think it’s used to refer to somebody who you’re in a romantic relationship with. And I don’t see Tellah in this scene. Silly screenplay writers, they’re about to invoke the wrath of the Great Sage Tellah.
Didn’t… didn’t this same thing happen early in Darkstar? Only it was Palom and Porom watching, and it focused on Tellah. And it was a puppet show. In Mysidia. I guess it’s a regional thing… In Mysidia, it pretty much ignored Cecil. Now, it ignores Tellah. And probably the fact that Cecil got curbstomped in that scene.
…Zazo is probably getting more and more skeptical about the concept of love by the second, watching such a sappy recreation of The Crystal Wars. I mean, where are all the song and dance numbers? If they don’t have that, they at least need orchestral accompaniment. Preferably with the original songs. And Edward.

Lots of Edward.

Yeah. Edward Chris Von Muir is awesome in everything but the original FFIV. Y’know, when he always ran and hid, and had next to no confidence.
Wayrift? Respectable king who can use his harp effectively for a change (knocking the Crystal off its pedestal and out of reach, putting Leona to sleep), and does manual labor with all his workers.
FFIV Interlude? His castle is already rebuilt (For reference, that’s one year after FFIV. Man, reconstruction work is slow in Wayrift) he’s opened the castle to the public, and is pretty competant.
The After Years? …I don’t think I’ve played his tale yet, but from a glimpse of him in Yang’s tale, and from what I hear, he’s gotten to be pretty good.
…Actually, in FFIV, his Strength stat gets higher at later (endgame) levels. He’s about as strong as Cecil, but since all he gets are weaker-than-holy-destruction-magic-crystal-sword harps, his attack power is still kinda limited. He never gets over his lack of HP, though.
In short, yes, Edward is awesome. …Wait, it WAS Blue Star Edward we saw before, right? I think so. Yep, I’m prety sure it was. We only saw Dark Star Edward in… well, Darkstar. And he didn’t do much, he just showed up for a meeting, and immortalized the Holy Boxer Shorts. Which, actually, makes him pretty awesome.
…I’ll stop my ramblings, now.

Keep in mind that not very much time has passed in the BS dimension (while 6 years have passed in the DS dimension at the start of Wayrift). So the BS Edward you saw rebuilding the castle wasn’t quite that long after the war.
I don’t have the exact time frame for that. You’d have to ask Syn.
For Edward’s credit, I doubt he had a hand in writing this (really poor) play. There are several entertainment troupes who perform around the Blue Planet, the most famous being the Ironback Troupe. This is also, thankfully, not the Ironback Troupe either. XD

They seem to more closely resemble the Tin-Can Troupe

yay! its Zazo’s time to shine! or rather, its time to watch her see the main actor shine! XD
I guess watching plays is a good way to pass time : P
