Zeb: At least you can live with an innocence.. the innocence that it wasn’t your fault. I knew what I was doing.. at least to a point.
Ben: Sometimes I wonder how much was myself and how much was not. I guess one can’t help but question when looking back.
Zeb: Sometimes I do as well…
Ben: At least you knew something more to life than just the darkness. The madness…and the confusion. The loss…. That’s all I have known.
Zeb: I knew something more to life. *laughs* And I still made the same decisions.
Ben: You once knew love. That’s more than I can really recall…

Good point… At this point, Ben’s memories of being Golbez are still hazy, yes? So he can’t be 100% sure that he WASN’T doing it of his own will.
It sounds unlikely… but since he can’t remember clearly, there’s a little seed of doubt.
*blinks as she finishes the page* Ben doesn’t remember his childhood at ALL?

KJ: No… he only has very hazy images every now and then of things that happened before the start of Darkstar.
I think the most clearly he remembered anything from his childhood was in Chapter 13 of Wayrift, Pages 20-22. Which is why his reaction to it was “I can remember?”

Why do I have the feeling we are getting in touch with our inner child here? Got to say Aywren Ben’s expression does get the emotional confusion across really well.I also have to ask if you have read the manga Samurai deeper Kyo? If you havent you would like it since it has a dark Bad*** for a main character. I highly recomend it.
