Also, the name is… “Artaxerxes” correct? Have you been reading more Tolkien, Syn? I know Artaxerxes isn’t exactly a name Tolkien invented but… He used it as a name for a wizard in a book called “Roverandom”. In that Artaxerxes is a rather cross old wizard who turns a poor little dog named Rover into a toy because the wizard wasn’t being nice and the dog bit his trousers. Axy also proves himself to be somewhat incompetent in the long run. He manages to irritate the Midgard Serpent. Not great at all. He doesn’t die though, so that is good! Just thought I’d mention it, it’s just fun trivia.

Actually, I picked it because I kinda liked the “silence of the light” name.. I was aware that it was the name of a line of Persian kings, before that of Alexander the Great.

Okay, about the Axy dragon… Sorry, I’ve just got a thing for adding “y” to the end of some things. In this case it comes out as kinda worrying for Zeb. Is Zeb gonna get the “Ax?” HA!
Anyway, about that dragon… and I’m gonna be entirely honest here… I love the concept. I’ve already mentioned the whole “bipedal” thing. Okay, so “semi-bipedal” is just as good, I sometimes think humans are “semi-bipedal”. I can’t say much else about the dragon because Axy is so darn shiny that I can’t make out the details. This is all well and good now, but I’d love to see more.
Regardless, of the features I can make out… Hair. Dragons with hair seem odd to me, but it works on Zemi. This may not be quite like Zemi’s hair though, but given the more humanoid form it may actually work just as well. I don’t know yet for sure.
Spikey things for the wing finger thing… Yes please. Wings look great overall.
I’ve already mentioned the legs.
Tail. We can make out a good amount of detail on the tail. The main thing for me? The very tip. I like it, it looks almost like it could be weaponized quite handily. I suppose that is the… point.
Quite a promising dragon so far Syn, and Wren for drawing it (I assume?), but the concept looks good.
On the subject of more dragons = good. No, I disagree. More well done dragons = good if they aren’t overwhelming everything else for no god reason. Thankfully, Axy here so far seems to be a well done dragon. Second, it isn’t just a big “oh look, shiny dragon that appeared out of nowhere plot wise!” No, this is well thought out and fits in well.
In sum: The dragon is great, the story is great, the characters are great, and the world is great. So there.

Thanks for your feedback, Can! I had to draw that bottom frame many, many times over as I was changing things based off of feedback from Syn. I guess I should have practiced drawing Ax more before I tried the real thing! He’ll remain glowy (Syn says he’s an energy-ish dragon), but you’ll see more details next week.
And, no. Ax isn’t something we just woke up and decided one day “Hey, it would be cool if we stuck another dragon in Wayrift!” He’s been there from the start! We’ve dropped quite a few hints along the way such as these:

We argued about markedness being contagions, made fangirl piles on Kip and Tai, fed figments chocolate (Ben started a thread for it), Mocked Kip’s choice of weapon, and altogether took away the seriousness of the page.
Firefox personas were made, there was a pokemon parody, along witha few disscusions about flaming crabs and someone eating the head of the roasted spinrat (It was Aiden. I still think it was). Also Zeb took over Syn’s computer at one point.
At least 10 comments were about the comments themselves.
At least 2 of these were mine.
