People: *attacking Ben, trying to smother him down*
Kip: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *evil evil evil* X D
Leona: Oh, no! I remember now! *tells Tai* It’s that OMEGA guy!
Tai: *rushes out into the mess snarling* Kip! What in the name of the Seven Freakin Universes do you think you’re DOING?! >: O
Kip: *swings around with a flaming eye* Golbez, I thought I told you to come alon– *freezes, seeing Tai, he reels back in surprise* Tsu..? TsuMe? Is that really..?
Tai: Yeah. Unfortunately for you.

“Yeah. Unfortunately for you.”
Totally awesome! XD
*Not sure who to cheer for anymore* @_@
It easy always choose Tai cause he the cute sexy short one ;3.
I -LOVE- Kip’s face in the second-to-last frame; pure ownage. Tai is going to mop the floor with him.
Kip: NO! NOT THE FACE!
Tai: *Epic face punch*
I know that Kip probably isn’t the type to shout “not the face” right before being punched, but the thought amuses me. Kory’s probably the one most likely to say that.
*puts on tinfoil hat and duct tapes it on just to be safe*.
Actually, in the script, I did have Tai come in and give Kip a face punch (would have happened on this page). But I decided that was a bit too harsh, even for Tai, and uncalled for… as Tai usually doesn’t punch his friends before at least trying to say something to them. So I edited it out.
Tai will do enough physical damage later. ^_~
He better >_>
wouldn’t a facepunch hurt tsuya to? *eyes metal plates*
I’m gonna let tai yell at kippy for a while instead.
As if Tsu would allow mere sheets of metal to interfere with one of his face punches. X}
Tai knows where the plates are. He could punch around them. Kip’s nose is always open for breaking. XD
Kippy can always get Sapling to fix it!
WAHAHAHAHAA WOOT
Loving it! Beautiful! Especially the last two panels.
Kip’s WTF?!?! face is beyond epic, it is MASTERPIECE.
Tai is acting like an older brother. Older brother walks in on younger brother doing something wrong (normally picking on youngest sibling) and starts scolding him. Of course, it could just be a guy thing to do, walk in and threaten violence if the other doesn’t stop doing his own violence, but I prefer thinking as if they are related.
Wait, there’s exactly seven freakin’ universes?
Does that include the one that was burnt to a crisp or not? Do charred universes count or do we prefer our universes only well done and no more? Are all universes freaks, or is it just the seven of them? If there are seven freaky universes, does that make more that are normal? Should I find my sanity? I think it is singing a duet in a restaurant with my witts and my common sense.
With a reply like that, I think Sanity is out to lunch, with witts and common sense no where to be seen. Sarcasm and randomness are right up front though.
Also, for reasons I cant quite explain, that first panel is awesome, mostly the way Kip is standing there with his maniacal laughter.
Wow… the three of you pretty much described my thought train here in incredible accuracy. I… I simply have nothing to add… Oh wait, one thing: Knock some sense into him, Tai! After poking ot his remaining eye, of course.
Actually I wasn’t being sarcastic at all. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was just trying to ask a few questions in a fun and random way. I was wondering if the seven universes included the destroyed universe, and if there were any remnants of the destroyed universe. I only remembered that the universe was destroyed, presumably by energy, hence the joking on the scorched universe and the meat jokes.
It is interesting that Tai uses the saying “seven freakin universes” as I think it probably means that it is common knowledge. I don’t think that Tsu was there when Zemi told the others about the Mistake in Dreigiau, but that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t have heard it elsewhere, or that there still couldn’t be knowledge about seven different universes.
“What in the Seven Universes” is a standard exclamation from the Nefolian world. It’s sorta like us saying “What in the world are you doing!?”
Also, the scorched universe didn’t really get destroyed, but it came very close to it during the “Mistake.” It’s the universe that Dreigiau takes place in, so it did eventually recover.
Another way of thinking of it is that “seven universes” doesn’t actually stand for seven real universes… but rather layers and levels of universal magics in my world. It’s a long, long blander that I won’t get into. But it’s more likely to be true… as the Infinite Ways prove that there are far more than just seven dimensional universes connected together.
Oh, I knew you werent being sarcastic. I was refering to my sarcasm, and what looked like your randomness. It was funny though.
Wow. I’ve never expect to see this face on Kip! He looks like he may need to change his pants.
We waited for this reunion scene for a long time, but it was totally worth it!!
“He looks like he may need to change his pants.”
that made me laugh so hard… XD
Glad you think it’s worth it! I hope the rest of this chapter works just as well.
Oh-ho! Seems Kip got a nasty surprise. Do we get an epic battle? Pretty please with cream on top?
I’m not sure Kip thinks of it as a nasty surprise yet. Of course, given that Shimmer hasn’t ever been completed, I’m not quite sure how the two of them thought of each other when they saw each other last.
Kip and Tai were friends the last they saw each other. So it’s more of a shock to see an old friend in an unexpected place… catching Kip doing something he’d be rather ashamed of doing in front of someone who knew him from before.
Up until now, there was no one there to hold him responsible for what he was doing. No one that knew him as KiNa. No one to make him feel ashamed of giving into OMEGA or to question his actions.
I think we can do the epic battle thing. ^_~
There can’t be an epic battle.. if Tai can’t reach Kip’s face to hit it… Mweh heh heh!
Weird tall guy who always bumps into doors you may be, but that made my day. *short preteen hugs Zeb*
:3
*runs and hides*
first panel is EPIC! Love the glowy Kip silhouette!
Go Tai! I can’t believe Kip recognized you! way to at least break his concentration! Now go knock some sense into him!
Kip’s face when he see’s Tai is priceless! (It’s been said already but I agree!)
I love how Tai isn’t the least bit afraid of Kip and his brainwashed army. He just thinks Kip is being an idiot and doing something really stupid, so he yells at him.
Yep.. that’s Tai for you… he really tends to act in a “nothing to lose” way, especially in the early days of Wayrift. He’s seen a lot in his life… it takes a lot to scare him (for his own well-being, at least).
Kip could easily recognize Tai… I’m sure it’s hard to forget the “feeling” that Tai gives off to a mind mage.
“feeling” that Tai gives off to a mind mage?
It would be “do not dare to try to mess with my head, you mind sucker”?
Or is it just the terribly-old-chaos´s-marked-nefolian thing?
I think it’s a bit of both, actually.
I find it slightly amusing that it always used to be Tai who would pick on Ben and mess with his head while Kip stood up for him, and now it’s kind of the other way around…
yea… Kip=Badass…. but Tai… Tai=EpicBadasstitude. Seriously X3 Worth the wait and I can’t wait for the epic battle between good and evil!! or more accurately, between Mindbent-Kip and Finalyfree(ish)-Tai.
Would the fact that he’s kinda working for Zemi have any bearing on him not wanting Ben to get picked on? Or is it just his deeply rooted sense of right and wrong finally rearing its head? The only thing that could make the coming pages better would be for Chase to show up. X3
Tai always liked Ben in his own way… he just didn’t like mouthy kids who tried to challenge his authority.
Sorry, no Chase in this chapter. But it would be interesting. XD
Awww……
C’mon, it would be an awesome Zot reunion! There would be cake and cookies and lotsa kantal!
Come to think of it, wasn’t this mentioned on an earlier page? It should happen, it really should. :3
You meen syn’s b-day party?
I just realized: what was Kip’s plan to assassinate Ben in the first place? Because this attempt is considerably weaker and flimsier than any of the Darkstar attempts. Evil, yup, genius, maybe, but eventually effective?
My jury’s still out, anyway. : P
I don’t know. I think he was making most of it up as he went along. His initial blast-Golbez approach didn’t quite make it. So he decided to have some fun.
Shakka, this is gonna be awsome!
Oh. Hell. YES!
canuovea this is the sortest comment i`ve read from you But 1 sai 1 thing BRING ON THE PAIN
this page makes me so happy. kip! and tai! together!
yay! Happy reunion-soon-to-turn-into-an-epic-battle-scene moment!
(Luvin the kip silhouette/expression there!)
And tai, well he’s being “older-brother” like here (the older part is definanlty true)
But im supposing here that being your teacher’s brother doest exactly count as brotherhood
A question might be, if Tai is the “older brother”, who are the “parents”. All the possibilities I come up with are scary (one being Zazo and Zemi -as Kip works for Zazo and Tai is one of Zemi’s people). Though I think the “family tree” from oldest to youngest would be Tai, Kip, and then Ben. Poor Ben, always the one being picked on. Though, as a younger sibling, I would suggest that he start picking back. :3 Maybe he can as Leona for a few pointers on how to annoy people and cause trouble.
It’s the classic “use innocents as your shield while you hit the good guy” ploy, and it might have worked, too. Except he reckoned without Tsu!
P.S. the scorched universe got messed up before Dreigiau, right? Did the Nefolians dimention shift to get here?
The scorched universe was before Dreigiau. Zemi was only a baby then. Zemi talks about the mistake here: http://www.dreigiau.com/ch5-4 There are also some spoilers on the matter in the comments in Dreigiau too. I think that the Nefolians probably demension shifted, but you would have to ask Aywren for sure. I am not sure whether they changed dimension in Dreigiau or when Runne was destroyed, as those were the two times that the Nefolians had to evacuate. From what Aywren said in a previous comments I think it was at the end of Dreigiau that the dimension shift occured. I will let you read Dreigiau to avoid any more spoilers on the matter.
Yes, the scorched universe happened before Dreigiau. I’ve had speculations on stories about the Time Before quite a bit… but nothing solid enough to put into any format.
I’d have to go back and read through the chapter to confirm it’s relevance at this point — I haven’t had a chance to edit that far into Dreigiau yet, and sometimes I find inconsistencies with what the old chapters said in comparison to how to the story ended or what I know about the story now. I’ll be doing that as soon as I get Book 1 proofed and published.
I don’t think it was a dimension shift at the end of Dreigiau at this point, knowing what I do about my Lunars and the world of Nefol. I believe they left the world of Nefol for another world (Runne) in the same dimension as the Blue Planet — it may be a completely different solar system, however.
Leaving Runne was not a dimension shift as the planet existed in the same solar system as the Blue Planet, just a few planets out from the sun. Runne was completely destroyed… while the world of Nefol still exists to possibly be rediscovered (hint hint).
Man… those Nefolians have terrible luck keeping a planet, don’t they?
Indeed they do.
But, hey…. If there’s a possibility of there being a Time Before story, would that mean more Aur? *holds back fangirly squeal*
That would mean the origins of Aur… and the part he played in protecting the young Arweinydd through the Mistake. Oh wait… I never mentioned that anywhere before, did I? X }
No, I don’t think you had.
I think Wren needs to write a LOT of stories.. and Nanowrimo is coming up… it’s perfect timing for her to write one of two stories:
A) The time before story…
or
B) The Ruune story.
Last time I visited there, we discussed the idea of either story. Mweh heh heh!
Hush!!! X o
I don’t know that I’m going to be able to swing a full NaNoWriMo this year. I’m having a tough enough time just getting Dreigiau edited right now! XD
Hmmrph… I’ve been kinda wondering… is the planet that the Lunars found in Darkstar actually Euphoria, rediscovered after a long vacation? I highly doubt it (I mean, there are probably a lot of inhabitable planets in the universe- er, multiverses) but I thought it might be interesting if it was.
Plus, at one point there is a mention of “snakes” (which are more like small dragons), and those sound like something Zemi would make in his free time… am I totally wrong?
Hmmmmmmmm. You MIGHT just have something there. ^_~
Life goes in strange cycles, doesn’t it?
I wish the grouchy Tai a happy birthday.
-sneak glomps Tai when she gets a chance and then runs away before Tai kills her-
*pokes the WayWiki*
