Zemi: What’s wrong? /: .
Ben: It doesn’t… burn… you?
Zemi: Why would it?
Leona: *whispers* Doesn’t it burn evil Zeromuses?
Ben: I think it would.
Zemi: *looks at them* I’m not Zeromus. : / Tell me. Should humans believe that all Lunars are evil because of Zemus’ deeds towards the Blue Planet?
Leona: *looks thoughtful* Yeah! But Ben’s only half. Maybe he’s only half-evil?
Zemi: *sighs* I think I picked the wrong human to ask.

Yes. Yes you did. XD
By that logic, it should burn Cecil too, because he is also half, so he is also half-evil.
No because Zeromus isnt Lunar (i think), she asked if it burned Evil Zeromuses (or Zeromi, or Zemuses or Zemusi) not Lunars…and can someone be “half evil”?
But… Zemi isn’t a Lunar either. He’s an Arweinydd. So… does what he said even make sense to begin with? XD;;;
It does if he was aiming the question at Ben…. since Ben is a half-Lunar.
He’s trying to get Ben to think.. “Hmm… it’s not fair to say all Lunars are bad because of what one Lunar did. So maybe it’s not fair to think all Arweinydd are bad because of what one Arweinydd did.”
Of course… that didn’t quite go over the way he wanted.
Sometimes you just have to love Leona
. This is one of those times. Also, Zemi can’t really ask a normal human because they don’t believe that LUNARS EXIST.
This raises an interesting question actually. How does the sword know who to burn?
Are we talking moral objectivity here? That’s dangerous. Or are we talking just a certain amount of “dark” or “evil” magic will set the sword off? But we know that even “Evil” magic isn’t evil or always used by an evil person (at least in Wayrift). It seems to me that relying on if a magic sword flames up or not to find out who is evil seems a little off.
I had a weapon in a story once that glowed or burned in the presence of evil. Everyone thought the dagger was imbued (fancy smancy words) by a “god” of “Justice” to damage those who that god saw as evil (which was supposed to be the objective definition of good and evil, but…). Turns out the dagger was sentient and started flaring up when someone in the area annoyed it or angered it or who it thought was evil.
I am now curious as to how this sword works. Very much so.
Not sure how BSC’s sword works… but my Cecil’s sword is anti-shadow. Shadow doesn’t always mean evil, though. That’s something that both Ben and Leona seem to misunderstand, despite the fact that Ben is a shadow mage of sorts. Cecil’s sword reacts badly to Ben’s shadow energies… not to any sort of good or evil.
Syn would have to answer for BSC’s sword. ^_~
I find it somewhat ironic that Ben would misunderstand that, but of course it’s understandable considering what shadow magic has done to him. Still. And I can see where this misunderstanding could maybe cause some, well, I want to say “self esteem” issues, for Ben. If he thinks that a sword hurts evil things, and it hurts him, then the conclusion seems evident to him. Or does Ben understand how DSCecil’s sword works and also misunderstand the nature of shadow magic? As opposed to Ben misunderstanding both how DSCecil’s sword works and the nature of shadow magic as well?
Regardless, this smells like future character development. Excellent.
“Zeromuses”… interesting. I would have thought that the plural form of Zeromus would be Zeromi or something.
Leona is random with her rules of made-up grammar.
Yes, Zemi, definitely the wrong person. Heh, Leona’s way of thinking makes me laugh. ^_^ Hopefully Ben gets Zemi’s train of thought here, at least.
I love Zemi’s expressions- especially the third and last panels.
wrong answer leona.
Is it just me, or does Zemi look extremely old in that last panel?
Not that he isn’t already old…
Not that he is old…
What I mean is, that answer seemed to age him a bit.
Haha! Ben’s only half evil!
Chibi Leona is chibi.
I think I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again: This Webcomic’s Artwork Is Amazing.
Aw… thank you very much, Rand!
yes zemi you did
