Zeb: Is that how you treat your associates?
Fang: *innocent grin hands folded behind her back* They were temps.
Zeb: *grabs both of her arms as they walk* Well, I’m sorry.
Fang: *startled look* What?!
Zeb: I can’t work for you.
Fang: *turns at him and commands* LET GO OF ME!
Zeb: <: o *lets go*

did that actually work or was he just surprised?
Zeb, I hope you were just shocked and will pwn her now. *goes wear her cousins cheerleader costume*Go Zeb! Go Zeb! Zeb rocks!
Shocked! Definitely shocked!
There is no way someone could outmindmagicked (uf what a word?) the Great Golbez!!
… of course , there is Zemi, Aiden, Kip … … but no way this little anoying girl can do it!
Or he might just have been surprised.
mind-magic fight!
Oooh nice!! The art, I mean. Although I think Zeb’s shirt magically fixed itself. Or maybe Fang tossed him an identical spare while we weren’t looking? (checks back) Actually his shirt has been not-raggedy for a while now. But I guess it’s easier to draw. So, whatever. ^_^;;
Looking forward to the next page sooo much!
I don’t think Zeb’s shirt was raggedy this chapter. Maybe you were thinking about Tai.
It changes from

no worries though. I didn’t notice until Illinia mentioned it.
Aw crud. You’re right. My apologies!
And good eyes, Illinia!
don’t beat yourself up about it, everyone makes mistakes, and this wasn’t a major one. its good art tho!
All the good shows do it…i mean look at Tom and Jerry, Tom gets beat up, squashed to smithereens, run over burned, and all other manners of violently destroyed, and next scene he’s perfectly okay, not a scratch on him! besides so long’s it doesnt effect the story too much, i think no body’ll care
Haha… I guess that’s true.Thanks for the encouragement!
Mmmm…..yanno, I think I would have acted like that too. I wouldn’t want to work with someone who discards her associates once she’s done with them. Which is actually a little reminiscent of Zemus, I think.
Great expresions on this page, especially Fang’s!
I love his word choice. It’s not “I won’t work for you” or “I don’t want to work for you,” it’s “I can’t work for you.” Almost like “I wish I could, but circumstances being what they are…”
It’s almost apologetic in its wording, especially when backed with his obviously not firm/harmful grip on her wrists. (Unless, of course, Fang is superstrong and THAT’S what we were supposed to pick up there >_<)
Or possibly “I can’t work for you because of what I’ve seen you do to other people”. I dunno. But that line made me ponder, too.
And no, Fang doesn’t have any special physical strength. Nothing like that.
oooh~ this could get interesting…especially with the daily upd–wait…its wednesday…nevermind~ i forgot i skipped monday and read it tuesday, phew now i wont fall as far behind over the three weeks that i’ll be away!
So can i say my suspicions now? I don’t wanna ruin any major plot points…but its really really becoming obvious that Tsu and Fang may be related or is that just me? i mean they have the same name! just in different languages. they’re both short, they both have black hair, they’re both devious and cunning and epic. Aywren’s own comments…tho they’re age difference kinda rules out siblings (though not completely)…but the fact that Tai “died” after Zot rules out child, unless of course it was during Zot…hm…things to ponder~
plz ignore the above comment! i got my response from the last page! (though i still hold my believes and hope they come true cuz Tai needs somebody to love, other than that ovr sized, love sick puppy -hides from Zazo’s rath-)
No worries.
No, they’re not related, I can confirm that up front. But they DO have past connections. Fang wouldn’t remember at this point, however, and Tai would not recognize her. ^_~
Now… I’m really confused. @_@
What’d be the point of cliff hangers if they didn’t confuse us and make us tremble with anticipation?
yeah…tell me about it…im confused and its killing me!….while i agree with Rand that cliff hangers are useful for enticing readers/watchers to continue with the story, they’re still as annoying as hell and make me sit here screaming at the screen about how mean and evil the author is for leaving us at such a bad point and making us wait to find out what happens next….it’s just aggravating. AKA: good work Wren! only the best of authors have the power to leavers readers screaming at the edge of their seats for more.
Thanks! Send your “good work” to Syn, however. She was the one that wrote this chapter entirely on her own (none of my figments took part in it). I’ve enjoyed drawing it, though!
I think I’ve offered more spoilers here about Fang than she would have wanted. Still, people picked up Fang was a mind mage on their own. I just confirmed, right? Right?
right and u didnt even do that…you’re just bad at lying…(jkjk)
good work Syn! love your writing~
I suppose he is just shocked that Fang not only isn’t scared of him, but also has powerful lungs and isn’t scared to use them XD But that may be a problem when they’re trying to be sneaky… And Zeb, is that anyway to repay your debts? She was helping you escape, after all. Be nice to the young lady! XD
Yes… Fang was helping Zeb to escape… only with what benefit to her? ^_~
Well, you know… If I was in his skin, I’d rather work with Fang than wait until BS!Cecil decides to free me… IF he does XD And don’t tell me Zeb isn’t able to outrun the little lady, because if he isn’t, I’ll be laughing at him for my entire life XD
Actually, Syn says that Zeb isn’t a very fast runner. Probably because of the weight of the armor he’s always carrying. XD
He can (sort of) outrun a barn full of angry chocobos? XD
And does his weight stay consistent even when the armor is down? (imagines him doing a belly-flop into a pool and sinking like stone). But he CAN swim…
Does it mean that he won’t be able to run away from a horde of fangirls? Nice! *goes to find a way to get in the wayrift universe(s)*
