Zeb: Look! I’ll bring back the sword!
BSC: Are you going to tell me where it is?
Zeb: You likely can’t go where it is.
BSC: *looks at the Junior and Sarafina* I want a warrant out on Professor Kory of Eblana. I want the best man-hunters on the job. I need to go and consult the Elder on this.
Junior and Sarafina: Yessir.
Zeb: Wait! What about.. *starts to stir in his chains*
BSC: *glares at him* I’m going to find out exactly how involved you are in this!
Zeb: Cecil! You have to let me GO!
BSC: *turns on him and walks out*
Zeb: Cecil! SHAK!

Awww…. Poor Zebby-chan. No ones listening to you!
Darn it all Cecil! I know Paladins aren’t known for their Intelligence scores, but you cannot be that Lawful Stupid! Or is this more of a case of stupid good! In either case my point still stands!
And aren’t Paladins suppose to be about atoning and redemption and all that? You of all people should know Mr. Former Dark Knight. Can’t you have a little trust in your fraking brother?
Sorry, had to get that out. Cecil frustrates me sometimes. Or maybe I just get frustrated around most Lawful Good types. That would make sense, me being Chaotic Neutral (I try to lean towards Good, Honest!). Ok I’m done now.
I find myself agreeing with everything here, except the leaning towards good. Thats definatly not me.
Lawful Good? Cecil? Naaaah..
The important thing to realize is that BSC is NOT perfect. He does not always act the part of the perfect paladin (as would any of us). He has a lot of bad traits still to work through: mistrust, the occasional frustration spat, etc.
Grrr! Cecil, you’re dead, I will kill you myself for acting like that towards Zeb. Miss Aywren, I really do wish I could get there and make him relase Zeb (Probably by torturing the paladin) (Ugh, yes, I’m pretty much of an obsessed fangirl.)
Now now… no death threats to the figments! XD Don’t worry, Zeb will get his chance.
awwww! *ahem* I mean, yay! (yes, that is what I mean…)
Someone is going to get Zeb out, whether it is Cecil, some random guard, his relatives, or maybe he just busts out himself.
The size of Cecil’s head in comparison to his cape makes me laugh and think of Christmas trees. XD
I wonder how far Zeb would get walking into Baron Castle holding Cecil’s stolen sword…
Whoa… so much emotion on this page!
Also Cecil’s hair looks cool.
Poor Zeb! He seems to be stuck there.
Misunderstood again. He’s just trying to help in the ONLY possibly way!
And Cecil… wow – he acts so kingly here! I mean shouting commands around, not hearing his own brothers plea, not doing fool from himself… wait… not listening to Zeb who is the only one who knows something about it… trying hard to find someone who is currently not in same dimension…
OK, he acts like fool… but it’s because of lack of information – we still love our kingly king!
Yeah… Cecil doesn’t necessarily know about other dimensions, “hand-waving crud” etc…. And also, remember – what he knows about his “brother” is limited to only a few moments of knowledge in battle, and this whole incident where he’s been walking around in armor with evil wolves and dragons that follow. He doesn’t really know Zeb – there hasn’t been that time of bonding or brotherhood at all.
I think Cecil also realizes he lacks information, hence the “I need to go and consult the Elder on this.” He doesn’t want to make a jump decision because he knows that he’s missing pieces here… and he confirms the need to discuss this with someone who he does trust that would know more.
Zeb is just not patient enough to accept that answer. ^_~
Wow… I’m gone for two weeks and the world has not even gone to hell and damnation in the meantime… I’m not sure if i should be impressed by the figments for keeping things together or disappointed in the author(s) for not trying hard enough…
I would say both… ; }
You do realize that usually signifies we have something fun in store? ^_~
Or at least, Syn does. She’s the plot-maker around here.
I should have known… in the end, the authors always win, don’t they? I guess I’m just being impatient.
Aww, Cecil’s being imprudent. I think he needs a cookie, cookies make everything better.
Now, now, everyone calm down. Even if I don’t agree with BS!Cecil in this one, I can see his point of view. If I was in his skin, it would seem intelligent to not trust Zeb that much. Really, Cecil can’t be sure if he’ll run away with his sword, and that would make him True Stupid XD After all, he doesn’t know any bit of what the readers know (and if he ends up knowing, I’m not betting on his sanity after that XD)
I’ve been reading this since yesterday — I definitely luvvles it! Time to catch up on all the other comics you guys have done relating to this world!
The development of your drawing style has been awesome to experience! And the storyline is intricate and captivating. I honestly care about EVERY SINGLE character. I love the “I may seem bad, but am I really?” type of bad guys in everything. Hooray!
Welcome to Wayrift and wonderful to meet you! Glad you’re enjoying your read (I know there’s a big archive to make it through).
Just feel free to drop a comment or question if you have anything you need to know. We’ll do our best to answer!
Oh wow! I LOVE! Zeb’s face in the panel!
This page want to make me cry and punch cecil in the face.
grammers mistake: wants
Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who wants to do it. Hmm, yes, my way was a ‘bit’ more violent, but you’ve got my point.
I don’t think many people could survive, or even get the chance to, punch BSCecil in the face. But that being said…
Regardless I think that BSCecil’s reaction makes perfect sense and I would probably do the same thing in the same situation with the knowledge he has. Yes. I am defending BSCecil. Even I find that a bit odd. But there are a few points to consider:
BSC doesn’t have the knowledge that we do (I love irony), so how can we judge him? And besides, we know that Zeb doesn’t actually have things down properly… Unless Aiden really is evil… so it may be for the best he stays locked up at the moment (more on that later).
BSC still has the option of releasing Zeb later if he judges that it works. The point is that this gives him time to think about it and make calculations etc. There are times for rash action and times for calculations and caution too; for Cecil this is the later. Zeb may think that it should be the former because he may think that if he gets the sword then he can keep Aiden in it. I’m siding with Cecil on this as I want Aiden out of the sword (not that he knows about that).
BSC also has a right to be suspiscious as the BS dimension seems a little less rosy than the DS dimension. I don’t mean to say that the DS dimension is problem free (it isn’t by a long shot), but BSC’s position seems far more precarious than his counterpart. Essentially, BSC has to be more careful (which justifies his calculating approach to the issue).
So yeah. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say go BSCecil, despite his title having the letters B and S in it in that order. Also, I’m sure I’m not the first person to notice that.
Nice summary! And I agree.
Who’s to say that Zeb wants to get the sword JUST to give it back to BSC? He may! But he may have other ideas, especially with KluYa stuck inside. Hmmmm…… ^_~
Also, Darkstar is “DS” as in the Nintendo DS. And FFIV DS. Totally coincidence since Darkstar was named many years before the DS system came out.
I believe that Blue Star was named “Blue Star” before Syn ever knew of the Darkstar world. She wasn’t exactly thinking about what its initials would be when she named it. It’s only when we brought the two worlds together that we realized we’d need a way to differentiate between characters that appear in both worlds.
Funny thing is… DSCecil is generally just “Cecil” while the Cecil of the Blue Star dimension gets the BS slapped in front of his name.
Kinda like how Aiden is KluYa (KY). While the KluYa of the Darkstar dimension is “MKY.” Heh.
However, Kain is “Kain” no matter what dimension he comes from. XD
I’m slightly frightened to ask this, but…..
What does it matter that the B and the S are in that order?
(I didn’t get the P S thing from that chapter with the boot to the head, eather. *is too lazy to look up the chapter name*)
BS? Okay, it stands for Blue Star yes? It can also stand for something else though. For example, BSCecil’s talk about Zeb being decapitated is BS. Or BSCecil’s uber righteous paladin image is BS. Maybe that’s why BSCecil got the BS put in front of his name. I’ve heard BS used that way before, I don’t know about everyone else though. Then again, given the situation he is in, I think BSCecil can be forgiven for being less than perfect, after all no one is.
Ohhhh….. I hopefully think I may possibly get it now!
Hahah… exactly! X} Poor Syn. I’ve joked with her about the “BS” issue in the past.
Don’t worry. Once Tai gets his hands on BSC, he’ll rag him to no end about the goody-two-shoes shiny-shiny Paladin bit. It’s hard to be too paladinly when Tai’s around to be a bad influence.
Tai is officially “Lawful Tsu”. Meaning… he follows his OWN ideas of what laws should be. To a fault. Usually those coincide with the Baronian laws. But when he thinks the laws are stupid, he says so… loudly… to BSC… and refuses to follow them. XD
I suppose one can do that when they know the king. XD
And I suppose sending the guards after him would be rather useless too.
and a ghastly waste of spears…
