Leona: Then how does he know you?
Tai: I was your General in Zooo— *freezes, realizing, maybe that’s not a good thing to admit* Oops…
Ben: …You’re from Zot… *grits his teeth and gets up with a dark expression* What do you want from me? Why are you here? I’m not the Dark Lord anymore!
Tai: *takes a step back, looking allllll the way up at Ben*

But as that scene in the movie shows, everything is better with the oops, just no one wants to admit it.
By the by, I like Tai’s “oops” face. Nice transition there.

Depends on what you mean by friend. Cid remembers him from before Zot, and Kip and Tsu remember him from Zot, but I think that’s about it.

Any of Ben’s childhood friends would think he was dead as all they were probably told was there was an attack on his home and no one was found alive. Sadly, Ben doesn’t remember much about his time in Mysidia, so he wouldn’t know who to go and visit even if he wanted to find old friends.

Ben’s probably thinking of what happened with Kip. I mean, it is kinda similar- random guy shows up, starts claiming he knows you even though you can’t remember him AT ALL… ‘cept this time said random guy is trying to save your life instead of kill you.

Just feel like pointing out random fact i have noticed, its like a roll reversal…in Shimmer i liked Kippy-kun over Tai (tho tai was still epic) and now im all angry at Kip (tho hes still epic) for being all evilly mr. “im gonna kill you waaahg!” even tho its not his fault. tho Tai wasnt evil on purpose in Zot either…but anyways long ramble made short-ish kip and tai flipped roles from shimmer to here but are both equally epic in both stories.
so Ben should be comparing Kip to Tai they’re similar…sorta…;-)

Now that Tai is out of the Zot environment and not under the scrutiny of Zemus, it’s easier to see his real personality come through in Wayrift. He’s one of my favorite figments to write, if you couldn’t tell.
Don’t worry, Kip will come back to us, eventually.
