Tai: I’m not… the General there, anymore.
Leona: I should beat him up for you, Ben!
Tai: I’d like to see you try. *shorter than Leona*
Ben: If he was a General in Zot, he must be pretty dangerous.
Tai: Look. Do you want to stay here? Or do you want to get out?
Leona: So what? You can deliver us to your DARK master?
Ben: Right… I don’t know if we can trust him.
Tai: Yeah, you don’t know. But the last DARK master I served is standing right here. Come on. Do I look like I’m here to mess you up? You’re in plenty enough trouble with the humans as it is.

Plenty enough trouble with the humans… but, you know, not half as much as they would be if it turned out they were running around with a general from Zot… Just a thought.
Second thought: Run for it. Why not?

That’s besides the point.

Yes. Yes it is besides the point. After all, what could the humans do to them with you around anyway Tai? You only need to worry about the trouble you are in with those who actually pose a threat. And in that case, I mean, who in the general area actually poses a threat?
Lets see… There is Cecil and Edward, surely th- no. Never mind. The only thing that you really need to worry about is a crazy glowing giant wolf popping out of some random dimension. It’s all good right?
It occurs to me this can be read in at least two ways. In one I’m being incredibly praising of Tai, which could be good for my health. In the other I am being extremely sarcastic, which could be not so good for my health.
Ah. I love the tonal ambiguity of text. Do I even know what the word tonal means? Does it matter?

Can text even have tonal anything, for that matter? Maybe it would make more sense if I knew what ambiguity meant…
Replying to your first post, none of the humans know that he’s a general from Zot, and he isn’t even one from that dimension. And pretty much the only way for them to find out would be for someone who knew to tell- not likely, considering.
I wonder if Ben will notice the use of the word humans in the last panel and figure out Tsu isn’t human.

Oh, I’m sure Ben is putting all the pieces together slowly. Doesn’t mean he’ll say anything about it though. His warning in the third frame shows that he’s already taking Tai pretty seriously (even if Leona doesn’t).

I wonder how Ben will take the reminder of being a DARK master?

I think it somewhat funny that Ben mirrors what Zemus? said in “Dreigiau – Final” : “Of course he’s dangerous, Why do you think Lord Zeromus would put so much effort into bringing him back?” .

ha, love tai’s face in panel one.
it’s funny to know that there’s someone shorter than leona, and thats not even what he really looks like!

hmph…-crosses arms- we’re not short…you’re all just freakishly tall…especially Ben…
and he’s offering you freaking freedom! take the freedom and run! if Ben was his “master” (heh) then im sure he could take Tai on…maybe…not that tai would necessarily fight back…maybe…but its freedom!!! take the damn freedom!…
im sure if Tai mentioned “hey im trying to save your grandfather the dragon who saved my life” then Ben MIGHT MIGHT be a little more willing to come with.

I don’t know. Ben certainly couldn’t take Tai on with the mageloks still on- no good without his magic. After…possibly. I don’t know how good Tai is with handling mages. Also, I think Tai mentioning Zemi would be kind of counterproductive at this point, since Ben doesn’t trust Zemi all that much either, on account of him seeming a lot like Zeromus.

yeah i understand that…i wasnt sure if the ex-general of Zot might have so magic way of getting rid of mage-loks or not…or he could just get the keys…ben certainly couldnt have taken on Tai without magic.
and i couldnt remember if Ben was on terms with Zemi or not…its been too long since i read that part.

Na, probably not. After all, he’s still got this whole “OHNOES MY GRANDFATHER IS THE BROTHER OF ZEROMUS” thing going on… so he’d probably take it all the wrong way and just think, “Oh, I was right, my grandfather is dark and evil and Chaotic and this is his evil minion come to twist my mind into liking him so he can steal my sooooul!”
…Or something. XD

OMG!!! This comic is awesome. Aweryn I kinda stopped reading this comic when there was a break in the action what was it …. 3 or 4 years ago …….. (time sure does fly) >>; …… and I am glad I came back ^^. I really suspect the that Zora new human form is going to pop up in a few pages from now … probably going to look like one of…. probably going to have with a elegent princess like dress of the regal ladies earlier. Which will probably get soon ruined for karma-tic justice. But still Zora and Tai … I totally ship that >>;
Finally to all the other fans I have yet to meet, and I am the only one who thinks Tai is totally huggable in the first panel?
I just want to *hug* him in the first panel, and make everything better.

And you’re right about Zazo’s human form… we call it Pretty-Pretty Princess. XD
Just don’t tell Tai you’re shipping for him!

I saw that briefly, but refreshing it went away. Not sure what that was. Must be a host glitch.
