Something tells me Kip is going to be able to make a nice little exit stage right if Cecil decides to attack his helpers….

Aww Poor BSC, getting ragged on.
I do think that he’s overreacting a bit in these panels, but I don’t think he’s completely idiotic for doing what he did. He was really going after a direct strike on Zeb – the cutting of the Kip entanglement was somewhat a byproduct of the situation. It’s difficult to portray that in a drawing sometimes.
In some ways, it’s not difficult to blame Cecil. Everytime he’s seen that armor in a crystal room, it’s been a particularly bad experience. On top of it, remember in one of the previous chapters, Zeb decided to be all shadowy and pushy? Well, being deceptive and smirky in the eyes of a military-trained-airship-captain-turned-king is likely not going to earn you trust — especially since Zeb (indirectly) took a good chunk out of civilization in previous wars.
In terms of battle tactics, BSC is just going for the more logical target – the leader of incursion. I think he has his trust that the “New Improved Edward(TM)” can handle the flack. I doubt at the time he thought that Zeb was being a “good guy” – especially with all his dramatic MWAHAHAHing. Zeb really has to break himself of his attitude and grow up someday. Heh.
Give Luv:

Aw, but Syn, I think I would at least quetion why the “leader of the incursion” was ensaring the supposed minion.
But no.. I totally understand *why* BSC is doing this.. it’s just.. unfortunate xD

I’d still call him an idiot . . . but I’d do the same thing. “ACK BIG BLACK TENDRIL THINGIES KILL KILL KILL!!!” Okay, that’s because of panic. XD
You can tell the boys are related. I can’t take either of them seriously . . .

You know, I think I mentioned something like this would happen awhile ago. Incase you forgot, let me recap. Cecil is a stupid dork and attacks the people trying to help him. Even the questionable circumstances Zeb found himself in that made Cecil weary of him can be explained that Cecil himself witnessed. Now all we need is Drake coming out of no where, stabbing Ben, and/or kidnapping Leona again while he’s at it. Speaking of Leona, I have two things to say. First, I’m surprised she hasn’t just gone “Oh for the love of…” And sneak up on Cecil and knocked the stupid and conscientiousness out of him. I mean, there is know what that a shiny paladin of light would suspect a teenage girl, right?
Second: Why isn’t there a BS Leona? Once again I feel like a complete idiot for asking, and I feel like I missed or forgot something from a past page that explains this. Please once again forgive my noobishness.
Give Luv:
0
I’m not sure I know. If there is a BS Leona, she just doesn’t participate actively in the story.
Give Luv:
0
I don’t think that BSC suspects Leona as being part of all the trouble, at least directly, honestly. He’s focused on Golbez (and yes) the bad looking people. Cecil has a bias problem at times, and makes pretty human mistakes. (After all, he is ahem… half human.)
I think that the previous circumstances that Zeb put himself in with Cecil were actually WORSE than what they would be if he would have just shown up randomly. He really blew his chances in the garden by being all sneaky and pushy. BSC is a cut-the-crap guy — if you’re gonna act melodramatic (like Zeb often does) , you’re gonna pay for it.
Also remember that Leona DOESN’T trust Zeb as far as she could toss him. Zeb has attacked Ben, caused chaos in the other world by misbehaving and staining Ben’s name, and other such things. She doesn’t know if he’s a bad guy, anti-hero and such.
Leona would get stomped if she tried to knock Cecil out. It would be like a level 1 fighter… hitting a legendary warrior type of guy?
BS Leona likely exists.. but I don’t know about playing mirror versions of her… I get all messed up playing as many other characters that I have to. But she’s probably out there… being a proper type of girl.. getting married to.. hmm.. who knows? HOLY PALADIN DRAGON KNIGHT RED WING CAPTAIN Kain?
*laughs*

He’s a “soft” target. I’m sure that Edward can likely handle him in his panel. But Zeb…

Excuse me, oh-dear-glorious-swordie-brother,
Last time I checked… I had been beaten senseless by flying eighth notes. Apparently the Uber-Powerful Grand Master Wizard Tyrant Golbez doesn’t have the Uber-Powerful-Grand-Master powers that he did in the game.
I was awesome in the game! I single handedly took out a party of four legendary heroes!
*snuff* Now look what I’m reduced to? Getting choked by pretty 8-bit tunes from a pixelated harp, and being beaten up by Cecil.
Give Luv:

I have a few comments to that:
1.) Rydia
2.) Mist Dragon Summon
3.) One-shot Bio (Virus) Spell.
Give Luv:

Awww, Zeb thinks that the harp notes are pretty!
It’s funny because BSC has no idea what he is dealing with, to think that Mr. Harp King can take on a mindmage (especially without the benefit of being half Lunar, which does somewhat explain how Cecil did not get totally mind fried by Kip there apparently) is a pretty funny idea. After all Zeb didn’t try doing that on Edward, but it is the first thing Kip would do if confronted.
And BSC, seems like Zeb’s just a bit of a braggart sometimes yes? Having fun putting him in his place, yes? But in all honesty you got your beaten up pretty badly sometimes there too, didn’t you?
And on a related note, (hahaha, note… get it? A musical note?… no? Oh…), related to the whole Edward vs Kip thing, does being a mind mage require someone to actually speak? (Kind of like Saruman in LOTR). It doesn’t seem so, that would mean that even if Kip is getting choked he could perhaps summon up the will to get Edward to stop.
Give Luv:
0
Mindmagery does not require the ability to speak, however voice is often a very powerful conductor of mind commands. Most mind mages in my world have pleasant, enticing and strong voices — often good singing voices because of that. (Ben is included, btw.)
As you saw on the previous page, Kip can deliver a mind-jolt even from a distance. If he had meant for it to cripple someone, it would have been a bit nastier for BSC. But as it is, Kip (even as OMEGA) is not the killing kind.
Touch, however, is more fatal. If a mind mage can get a hold of someone, especially touching bare skin, mind energies are even more potent. But most the time, this is not the case in battle… and tends to play more of a part of mind healing and memory techniques, which happen in calmer situations.

BTW – the last panel is greeaaat!!! Love those chibi expresions here, especially Zeb is cute

Cecil can’t interpret signs of peace. I wonder if this has ever gotten him into trouble in battle.
Run Zeb! He isn’t rational! Fleee!
I wonder if Zeb has a high pitched squealing scream. XD
Give Luv:
0
*huff*
Since when has big looming shadow shapes in big spiny armor saying “MWHAHAHA” been peaceful?
I didn’t know that he was entangling Kip? Everyone seems to expect that I know evvvvverything about this Zeb-fellow, when I’ve seen less than 24 hours of face time with him.
Give Luv:
0
…. O_o; *smoke fizzles out of her ears*
What…just happened?
Did BS Cecil just get possessive over the fight with Kip? Or is Kip developing a new kind of mind power that causes his enemies to attack potential friends? (If he is I want that power too….XD)
Give Luv:
0
Or maybe BCS soooo hates evil dark tendrils, that he is driven to slice them, whomever are they holding?
It’s called phobia…. um.. very agressive phobia??
Give Luv:
0
Is it a phobia, or obsessive compulsive? If it’s a phobia then Cecil likes to attack things he is afraid off (common, and not so common at the same time), and if so at least he can confront his phobia, some people would just curl up and freak out. But is BSC, like DSC, not afraid of anything? If so that theory is out the window.
So perhaps an obsessive compulsive drive to smite darkness (evil?) might explain it. According to BSC he was going after Zeb, not trying to free Kip (he claims not to know everything that goes on in a fight, so didn’t know Kip was entangled) so that kind of works I suppose.
Or maybe he’s just a Hotspurian hot head. Who knows? Or maybe he’s justified, after all, if he didn’t know that Zeb was trying to help him, and didn’t know that Zeb was entangling Kip…. then, well, Zeb would definitely look like a bit of a problem, perhaps more than the unknown quantity that Kip represents.
Now, can Cecil figure things out in time? That is the important question…
Give Luv:
0
Remember, this may have been the first time BSC actually SAW Zeb’s dark tendril attack in action. He doesn’t know the whole bit about the armor yet, afterall.
I know if I wasn’t familiar with slishing armor of darkness blasting tendrils around, I probably wouldn’t know what the heck I was seeing either! XD

Aji – To answer your question on the last page about how Zemi and Aiden are father and son. It’s similar to how Ben considers Aiden his father, even if Aiden is the KluYa of a different dimension.
Also, Syn can correct me, but I don’t believe that Aiden has actual parents. Having families in her Lunar culture isn’t a common thing.
Give Luv:
0
Fewer Lunars have parents than do not. People with natural bloodlines are more rare than those with non-natural bloodlines. Those with natural bloodlines tend to be of noble family lines.
Both Aiden and Drake are from non-natural type of bloodlines. Zemus is from a natural bloodline.
But Aiden’s parentage… heh.. who knows?
Give Luv:
0
ThanX both of you.
If it’s not, what’s the essence of KluYa? What do BS/DS have in common, thats make them dimensional twins?
But I’m afraid it isn’t much help for answering my question
I’m sort of “logic-person”, and if I’m not able to find logic in things, I’m little bit lost.
I thought, that beeing KluYa essentially means beeing “son of dragon”
Mmm… they have same name. They’re crystal masters… similar experience with Mt’Ordeal… have the same combination of Dark-Lord-Golbez and Holy-Paladin-Cecil sons…
OK, everything “after KluYa” match. I asumme, there are diferencis in their origins.
Aiden’s origin….not son of dragon???
I can recall – when he was trying to save Ben from Drake in bath, his hands gone “clawy” (um “clawsy”? um.. “looking like a claw”.) And what was he doing, fighting without shirt, when they first meet Drake? “Yellow bellied cowad”?
Maybe Zemi was lurking near his “birthing tank” XD
Give Luv:
0
And don’t forget when Cid uses his “weakness finder” (whatever) ability it appears as if Aiden isn’t just Lunarian at all. Something about… what? Dragon metal was it? So if Zemi isn’t the genetic father of Aiden… then, where did the whole “dragon” bit come from?
And the whole “dragon metal” thing comes up again when Drake wounds Aiden after Leona is shot down. Aiden mentions that dragon metal “hurts” evidently more so than a simple cut.
Of course the whole thing may be addressed at a later time, and it could all be a part of the grand plot… oooooh!

There are still many mysteries yet to be uncovered! ^_~
Give Luv:

*nervous look around* Can we keep it down amongst all the hunters on the board?
Give Luv:

Don’t worry Aiden, I don’t think anyone wants to hunt anyone else down… right now. I can’t vouch for Drake, though. >>;
Give Luv:
0
Yeah, everything is good right now, just fine. I think most of everyone here likes you just fine! As for Drake… Mr. Party Pooping, Zealous, Hitleresque Eugenic Purist, etc… if he tries anything there is liable to be a reaction from these good people. And that reaction would be very much like that one which the Suksleys (or whatever) got when they made fun of Leona and called Ben “sub-human.” What I recall from that lovely lovely reaction was the violence and large number of rebounds and a Chuck Norris style roundhouse kick (Oh YEAH!). Even Drake couldn’t beat Chuck Norris… wait… my logic just fell apart there…
Give Luv:
0
Something tells me that if anyone NOT in the story tries to get you, Aiden, there will be a VERY large group of… “people”… coming after them. And amongst that group would be my overpowered shapshifting druid, Deanira. I could pull out my full description of her, but I’m not feeling that evil. And I’d have to remember all of the words I toss into it. I also think it’s more fun to say and watch people’s faces. *evil grin*
Give Luv:

-head/desk-…ow….my head hurts….i didnt incorporate the alternate dimensions into my family tree….this jus got confusing…but when Aiden and Zemi meet in the cottage they said something about being related right? and Aidens got this whole kick with Zeb and Ben not attacking Zemi cuz hes their grndfather?…maybe i oughta read more than Shimmer, Wayrift, and tidbits of DS and Dregiue (spelling fail)
Give Luv:
0
You’ve got two Ya families from two different dimensions — because we are two different Authors who wrote two different stories before we ever met each other… and decided to mash them all together in Wayrift! XD
Family relations are sometimes accepted across dimensions as certain people hold certain “dimensional” places in the world — they are the mirrors or “dimensional twin” of the other (such as Ben and Zeb).
For example, you can consider Zemi somewhat of an adoptive “dimensional father” to Aiden. That would mean Zemi would be a “dimensional grandfather” to Zeb and BSC.
Ben, Zeb and both Cecils consider each other “dimensional brothers” even if they aren’t all related directly.
Aiden would be a “dimensional father” to Ben and DS Cecil — though Ben is a bit more keen on claiming Aiden as a father.
Zeb and BSC are Aiden and Miran’s sons by blood.
Ben and DS Cecil’s father by blood is the KluYa of the DS world (you see him in some of the later chapters of Shimmer). He’s often referred to as MKY (because Syn likes to call him the Manly KluYa — though I argue.)
MKY is Zemi and AsaHi’s son by blood.
I hope that helps?
