Junior: AHHH! NO!*grappled*
Kip: Why are you so difficult!?
BSC: Lieutenant! *rushing for Kip, sword drawn*
Kip: *wrestles the sword away* HAHAHAHA!
Junior: *sees BSC and ducks out of the way*
BSC: *leaps on Kip with glowy Paladin sword*
Kip: *turns, with Junior’s sword in his hand, putting up a meager defense* Crud!

YAY! New one! I love the chibi versions that pop in from time to time.
Shiney paladin to the rescue!

Cecil’s finally figuring out which one to fight with, huh? Maybe. ^_~
Give Luv:

We can hope. Though it does lead me to wonder what will happen if Kip tries to mind mage thingy Cecil.
*goes back to playing around with the figment registry*
Give Luv:

More like, which one to fight FIRST.
Give Luv:

We’ll have to see about the mind magery. Cecil is a swordie, but he’s also one of the most powerful heroes in the world. Also, don’t discount his half Lunar heritiage…
I think Kip will be pushed to TRY mind magery simply because he knows he can’t win by sword alone. (Oh, and it helps that I wrote the script, too.) ^_~

May I ask – I see that you are publishing your books through Lulu. I’m considering where I want to publish Dreigiau eventually. What do you think of the service there? Have you bought a copy of your own book, and if so, what is the quality? Thanks!
Give Luv:
0
I like their quality for the paperbacks, I’m awaiting some *cough* funding to be able to afford to purchase copies of the hardbacks to see how they rate. If you want I can email you some pics of how they turned out, and more detailed stuffs.
Give Luv:
0
Sure! That would be great! I don’t know if I’d go with hardbacks or not — I’m doing everything I can to keep costs down for the buyers. But I’ve always been curious about the quality.
Was it difficult to submit the actual text document? And did it take a lot of time before the book was ready to be purchased?
Give Luv:

I’ll email as soon as I can remove a guinea pig from my sleeve (little fatty got stuck)

Those darn figments!
Thanks so much for all the photos of the Lulu book! It looks really nice and clean-cut. I’ll definitely have to sit down and work with it some to see what I can come up with. You’re right that the cover is really shiny-shiny!

And now we have even more proof… Kip cannot fight.
But can Cecil withstand Mind Magery? Will Kip even get a chance to speak? Tune in next time! (Unless we return to the Wolf and Dragon…)
Last panel looks downright awesome!
Give Luv:

Kip is no master of melee, that’s for sure. But Cecil is. Kip could probably hold his own against a regular warrior or guard type… but not a hero with the skills of the Paladin King of Baron. ^_~
Kip knows he’s waaaaaay outmatched here.

Ya spelled ‘Grapple’ wrong.
Give Luv:

Ah well. It’s just a sound effect, so it’ll have to be as it is. Thanks, though!
Give Luv:

It’s a new style! The a is a hard a to produce a more…effective and impressive action sound!

Typo-sound! Yay!

Yay!! I’m sorry if I seem bloodthirsty, but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGG!!!!! (I tend to be a bit of a fan of battles).
BTW, love the comic so far, and I’m looking forward to more great pages. Go the cute little chibi’s!!!

Thanks, Silver! Fight scenes are still hard for me to draw, so I hope this one turns out okay!

Kip just can’t help gloating that he got the sword. waving it in Junior’s face with a big smirk. XD
Well if the sword fails to penetrate, BSCecil’s also about to land on Kip with a full suit of armor on.
I’m guessing that if he could summon his staff he would have by now?
Give Luv:
0
Kip, for all his mind magey power, does not have the same ability as Tai, who can summon his weapon out of thin air. I think that sort of power is reserved for people who have some control over rifting (Ben and Zeb both can summon their weapons)… or in Tai’s case, he has some minor flicker abilities with a very deep connection to his scythe.
Kip, on the other hand, can’t rift or flicker. And I doubt he has that deep of a connection to his staff. XD

I guess it would be bad if DuLlafn broke then. Poor Tai might crack too. XD

this is great the start of a good fight i hope realy love de addons: FTW AND FAIL in the commic it makes a fihgt sene that more fun to look at
Give Luv:
0
Those were just silly additions I added at the end (you can see they’re not in the script). We don’t take ourselves overly seriously at Wayrift. : )
Give Luv:
0
Excuse you, Aywren.
Just because you don’t take yourself seriously, that us warriors in battle don’t. Typical authors, *shakes his head* embellishing our life-or-death melee with terms such as “FTW”, “Fail”, and other such things. Swordfighting is a 100% serious event… often leading to limbs splattered about the room. Of course, since this is the Wayrift… such events are left.. undrawn.
I will be submitting a formal letter to the author complaint box.
Give Luv:
0
Hey, if I was beating up someone and the Author wrote “FAIL” in big letters with an arrow pointing to them, I wouldn’t complain. That is the nature of life — if you fight with me, you will FAIL.
Lighten up, Cecil.
Give Luv:

now there would be an interesting battle…Tai vs Cecil…either Cecil…Marked…er UnMarked vs Paladin…Scyth vs sword…id pay to see that
Give Luv:

I’ve had a few FAIL moments with a sword myself. Generally they took the form of “Damn it stop dodging you wuss!” (Which is a completely valid move… but it sucks when they do it to you). Then I’ve also had a few FTW moments too. “Don’t do you no good if you run ONTO my sword does it?” It made me feel good… of course it was in fencing as a sport so I did not end up impaling anyone.
Give Luv:
0
I want to complain too!
I want to ask… how can a ancient mindmage already well past his prime overpower a well-trained Red Shirt like me? You drew it like he just grabbed it out of my hand! *huffs* I do sense some sort of revisionism going on here!
I mean, he’s just a walking laptop battery! How hard could he be to defeat?
Give Luv:
0
You’re going to get it for that later, you know. But I like your guts, kid.
Give Luv:
0
Silly person! You’re a Red Shirt, you are required by the laws of Red Shirts to be defeated easily! Or killed….did you know that if you die you see an odd light…kind of like a single headlight…why do deer get stuck when they see headlights? Is it like some sort of evil hypnosis beam? We need to test this!
*runs off to steal a car*

Old age and trickery beat youth and skill. Always. Well. Not always. But a lot.

Finally I got caught up again! Not having a computer made me sad because I couldn’t read wayrift T_T but now I have a compy again! YAY! *dances*
oh my Kip, it looks like your lack of skill in melee combat is starting to catch up to you, isn’t it?
Give Luv:

Glad to have you back, Rainel!
Poor old man Kip.

That last panel is made of win. Cecil gets major points for that entry, and Kip gets points deducted for his fail. *scribbles on clipboard*

Fortunately, the Accounting Department keeps track of score for us.

Hah, me too! All I know is that Tai is in the lead for “Life sucks” points. True fact. And I think Zeb’s close behind.

LOL ok now that ive read all the comments i forgot what i was gonna say~ thats what i love about this comic~ the awesome people (and figments) who comment somedays they jus make the whole world seem brighter!
-scrolls back to top- oh! maybe it’s the chocobo hair that makes him unaffected by the mindmagey (love the word btw) and nice going Kip that it totally how Id deal with an oponent making such an awesome entrance!!! go BSC!
Give Luv:

Tai also likes to call it “mindsuckage” and the mind mages “mind suckers”.
I love to watch the comments too. Everyone here is just ace!

i try to keep coming back to the site jus to read the comments long after iv read the page…gives me reason for being btwn updates T-T i hate waiting for updates! but this is better than some where they havent updated in the past two years especially after leaving off at a really bad cliffhanger!!!
oh and random thought about being published is that alot of publishers arent gonna want to print ur stuff cuz its up on the web…idk i say go for it and whats the worse that can happen! you get a sick awesome publishing deal and lots of readers!
Give Luv:

Lulu is a self-publishing system that is online. They aren’t really a publisher in the normal sense of the word. Basically, if you put your text into a format, upload it to the site, they will give you a storefront to sell a “published” book. When someone comes and clicks “buy” in your store, they print the book on demand and ship it out to the buyer. They don’t really turn things down because everything is self published on demand. That’s the best way I can describe it.

kishi-keahi: Exactly! In fact I just finished going back over the whole thing! I even added a few comments and rated some of the pages. I am sure I could have been writing an essay or something. Or eating. Everything works out though. Plus it’s fun!
