Oh, I forgot about this page and how that frame would be hard to explain.
The last time that Tai saw Kip, Kip did already have his plates… but he wasn’t OMEGA-in-the-head quite yet. Tai remembers Kip as non-OMEGA simply because that’s the Kip he knew for the longest amount of time, and is still the way he thinks/remembers Kip.
He hasn’t seen how over-the-edge Kip has gone yet…
I don’t know if that makes sense. I guess you could say that Tai still thinks the best of his old friend.

It would probably help if I actually stopped being a lameo and read your stories. Curse my hatred of reading stuff on the comp screen (my eyes get tired). Maybe once I move back to Shelton I can just print it on the library’s printers, a few chapters at a time.

No, there’s the local standard definition of ‘normal’, but there is no ‘normal’. Not really.
