Cid: I’ve heard that you’ve done nothing to discourage her?
Ben: What can I say… if I can’t persuade her not to go, at least I can make sure she has a safe ship.
Cid: Magic hot-water piping, or voice-amplifiers are one thing. But I don’t know about some of these.. new modifications I see on the ship.
Ben: *innocent grin* Modifications?
Cid: *gives Ben the stare of an overprotective father*
Ben: Master Cid! Safety precautions first… really! *murmurs into his hand* Especially since we upgraded and overclocked the core on her engine…
Cid: What?
Ben: Um… I’m just going to go and make sure Cecil knows what to do with the mic. *scoots away*

Is it just me or is Ben a little less shy and quiet there for a minute. Not thinking about yourself and helping others is always a great way to break up a pity party, but OVER CLOCKING THE ENGINE CORE?! IS HE NUTS?
Ben’s like this a lot more than we tend to see in Wayrift. It’s just that he’s often put into positions where I don’t get to write this side of him. He IS the same Ben as in Shimmer, afterall! ^_~
