Oooooh… I likes the sparklies. Nice effects, there. And Kip really doesn’t look too happy. >_> Although, I must admit I’m somewhat confused… I thought Athrylith-powers were just mess-around-with-your-thoughts-and-memories. Didn’t know they encompassed telekinesis-y stuff. Or is Kip just being all rawr with other crazy magics?
Caliban: There are different types of Athrylith in my world, and different strengths to their powers. But Athrylith covers a whole spectrum of magics from telekinesis to telepathy and everything in between. Some mind mages are stronger in one area than another… though it’s far more rare to find one that can do both. Telekinesis is less common in mind mages as well.
For example, NaTu (Kip’s son) is a skilled mind healer (though he has shown signs of telekinesis as he gets older… it’s something he’s going to have to train). Where as ShiKon (Kip’s wife) has a knack for mind-induced status effects (feeling sick to your stomach?). SoYa and FuSoYa seem to lean toward mind reading and emphatic senses.
Kip, on the other hand DOES have skills that range the full spectrum of mind mages. If you remember in Shimmer here: http://www.shimmermanga.com/ch11-pg15
When Kip got angry at Rubin, he lifted him up off his feet and caused him to hover in the air. So even younger Kip had telekinesis abilities then.
OMEGA Kip’s powers are much, much stronger. So tearing apart a ship with his mind is quite do-able.
Oh. oh. OH!!! I just found the four part prologue and found out I’ve never read it before! I started on chapter 1, and that was ages and ages ago. Wow! No wonder I didn’t get the beginning at first, I didn’t read the introduction! More Wayrift, YAY! *end of being embarrassingly silly* KluYa and Kory are so funny (just finished part three in introduction.)
