Kip: *as his feet touch the ground, his single eye flicks open, burning with a twisted light — he turns his head slowly, eye focusing on Zazo, a nasty sneer on his face as he hisses* …Yooooou….

Zazo: *wolfish grin* I knew you would be of some use… other than a chew toy.

Kip: No! I refuse to serve you! *pulls his hand back, clutching his staff* Release me, Arweinydd!

Oh, that? Nooo.. it’s not a Mark. It’s the strap for his eyepatch. It just kinda got wrinkled and strange looking along his rage-lines on his forehead. XD Sorry!

Kip’s not Marked, though. So no worries. He’s OMEGA. And that’s enough.

Yep, you’re definately getting even better with drawing her, especially the expressions. I had honestly never thought a wolf could look smug! :DD

Aww, but OMEGA looks so awesomely evil the way you draw him, especially in the top right panel. That pose, that expression is sheer OMEGA glompage. Only, spiky stick and metal plates and really-quite-scary rage would hurt… who cares! It’s worth it! CHAAAARGE! XD

(I’m a sucker for the bad guys ;D)

OMEGA is an interesting character to draw consistently over a comic like this. Of course, I’ve drawn him in pieces of art, but never as much as I have over the past few weeks for Wayrift pages. So I’m getting my OMEGA practice in. It’s as if I take the younger Kip from “Shimmer” and seriously contort him — because I’ve had more practice drawing Kip before he was OMEGA, he’s always in my mind when I’m drawing these pages. I know he looks a lot different now, but I hope there’s still some connections to who he used to be in his design as well.

Cali– glad you noticed all the white folds in his coat. Those things take me a long time to do sometimes! It all just depends. But I thought that they end up looking the way I imagine they should. I went back and forth on whether to make Kip’s outfit painted in very dark or completely pitch black for a black and white page. I think I’m glad I decided on pitch black. XD

O.o I just realised…
I wanna know Drake’s reaction; Kip/KiNaTu/OMEGA/Collects-names-like-they-were-stamps used to be a Lunar but is now something… different. And Drake seems to have a bit of a problem both with people messing around with Lunar heritage, and those it affects.

Ven: Don’t worry, Drake and Kip are going to compare notes in the future. Seeing as neither of them are super aware of the double dimension thing going on, it’ll make for some confusion on what is Lunar and what is not. As a matter of fact, Syn and I just sat down yesterday and decided to extend this chapter and make it longer for just this sort of thing.

Kip definitely has some scary mojo going on. Yikes. Ditto on all the wolf expression comments, by the way. And I’m fascinated by the detail you put into OMEGA’s face–it’s a nice new touch. Definitely works to define his expressions, with the well-placed lines and all. He’s very…animalistic.

Thank you, Gwinna. I worked with face lines on this page, especially that first picture. OMEGA is very expressive when he’s angry… so I was doing what I could to make that come across.
