Considering you wouldn’t kill off Drake this soon, I deduce that it’s either magical fire… Or Drake is secretly Chuck Norris.
Drake would claim he’s better than Chuck Norris… since, of course, Chuck is not a Lunarian. XD
More than anything else, it’s hilarious to freak Kip out, I think?
That’s something that doesn’t happen too often… Second favourite Kip moment, next to the pillow-over-the-head incedent. XD
That’s true. Kip usually keeps his expressions under control fairly well. Just goes to show you that despite outward appearances, he really doesn’t like to see people get fried. Even if it is Drake.
Whom he really doesn’t know. I wonder if he’s more upset over the loss of his ‘partner’ or the loss of another living being. Ah well, soon he’ll know it’s fine. We hope. XD

i love drakes shadow at the end its awsome! and i like kips face at the last pannel on the next page he is so going to kill drake^^(if hes still alive!) and is it just me, or is the last pannel (no matter how cool it is) a little wonky?
Everything this week was a little wonky, IMHO… I had an off-week for art. But off-weeks for art doesn’t stop updates from being done. So forgive the wonkiness and just blame it on Kip. ^^;

Comie- That is correct. I use Flash for the linework and the rest is colored in Photoshop.

Thank you, Tirition! Syn and I will have been best friends/writing partners for going on 8 years soon… so we know each other and our figments/worlds fairly well. As a matter of fact, there’s very little that has developed in any of my stories that hasn’t had SOMETHING to do with Syn’s influence… or at least her allowing me to bring ideas to RP chats to flesh out and experiment with.
I couldn’t have done half as much as what you see here if she wasn’t there by my side to work on things all of these years. That’s why I like to remind people of how important she is in Wayrift, even if she’s often quiet around the website. She’s a HUGE part of the script writing — most of the characters at this point belong to her (up until the introduction of Zemi & Kip, Ben was the ONLY main character I wrote for in all of these chapters!) And she helps me through feedback on page layout and laying down base colors to help speed up the painting process on the pages.
Aww, that’s sweet. You two must be close, I’ve known my best friend for ten years, but if we tried to do anything like that together, we’d end up murdering each other. XD
Yeah, we are pretty close — considering we live so far away from each other and truthfully, our personalities are quite different. We tend to agree on the important things in life, though. And where one of us stumbles creatively, the other tends to be strong. So it’s a good balance.
Shimmer is one of the few projects I tend to do all on my own and it’s FAR harder than Wayrift. Not because it’s in color… but simply because it’s harder to stay motivated on a solo project for me. I’m lucky that most of the figments in Shimmer are fairly strong-willed and keep jabbing me forward. ^^;
Looks like Kip is getting a taste of his own medicine!

But there’s only four comments…why do more people comment on Wayrift than Shimmer? Are there more readers?
Wayrift does get more traffic than Shimmer does. Part of that is because Wayrift updates more often and I really work to advertise Wayrift as the hub of this community.
Shimmer used to be a bit more popular, but it’s gotten more quiet as of late. It also shares traffic with its mirror site on Drunk Duck so sometimes people comment there instead of the main Shimmer site.
I bet that Drake was attempting to disturb the dragon rather than Kip… but it is a nice face… Hee!

Hey now? You think in 8 years I haven’t gotten close to beating Wren over the head with a sketchbook?
And after eight years, she still won’t let me see half of her old drawings? Heh, I threw all of mine away. (Because I can’t draw. Unless of course, we are talking Solidworks?)
Actually Wren is the one who keeps this thing going? Lucky that I’m not the one running the thing, otherwise updates would be twice a year. Christmas Break, and perhaps a week in the Summer. She’s got a lot more of that artist-endurance gutsiness that I lack.
Graduate school really wipes me out. I tell you — I go to work at 7AM, and leave after the sun sets. This weekend is the first weekend away from work — and I find myself with empty time. But now… I don’t know what to do with myself?
