Kip: *eye narrows, a snarl breaking across his face he slams a button and makes the picture go away* Golbez….
Drake: *eyes Kip suspeciously, running the blade along his finger* You seem to know each other well.
Kip: He grew up in this Tower. I was his teacher in magic… in battle… and all things mind-magic. Yes… I know him. He is my target.
Drake: For what reason does a teacher turn against his student? *more suspecious*
Kip: *punches a button and brings up a picture of himself, as he used to be* Alterations… They can destroy a man’s soul. Take his mind. Twist his body. They can implant compulsions… that one cannot fight… nor control. I have nothing else left in my life but to carry out what was programmed into me.
That sounds so sad

Now Kumatsu feels angsty for Kip.
I shouldn’t find it funny that through all that he still, somehow, kept his headband. I really, really shouldn’t…or at least that shouldn’t be my first thought.
That aside, yes it does sound sad. Sad and infuriating; at the same time. =/

Poor Kip. He needs a new hobby. Eventually, chasing down Golbez is going to get boring.
That’s got to be surprising for Drake to hear. Not “He changed/turned away/I hate him now”, not “It’s my duty”, but “I’m being forced to, even though the people who force me are gone.”
Now, now. None of this. I’m the bad guy. OMEGA is not huggable.

Poor Kip. Though one can’t help but wonder why he doesn’t use his own mind magics on himself to convince himself not to go after Ben. I mean, he knows what was done to him and that it is programming etc., so he should be able to overcome his compulsion if he really puts his heart and soul into it…

OMEGA is something very physiologically deep-rooted in Kip. I can’t explain all of what they’ve done to him… but basically, his personality already had the potential to be a little quirky naturally (see Kip in Shimmer). They knew what to do to bring these characteristics out in him in the worst ways… and how to twist his pain for the loss of his family to use against him.
Kip can’t just convince himself against it… because OMEGA is PART of himself. And it’s very, very difficult for him to control or shut away OMEGA because it’s naturally a part of his personality and affects just about everything he does.
It’s a part of his future character development. But it’s going to take a LOT to get him moving in the right direction. Right now… he has nothing left to lose and nothing left to fight for. So there’s no reason for him to fight to make a change.

Kip’s not really. Even as OMEGA, he’s not really so much a MEAN guy. In fact, he’s very friendly as long as you’re not getting in his way. ^_~
perhaps he doesn’t like kip hugs… and yes he’s a great guy… so how about a pat on the the back? or a “blow up golbez” for him to thrash on while he’s in this bad mood of his??? XD no one here thinks he’s a bad guy (or at least I don’t…) but come on what about the hunter??? it seems that every bad guy so far EXEPT him is gonna turn good… -_-; (or does he??)

Well, Conscience, Kip doesn’t know his family is still alive. Trust me, if he did, there would be an instant change in what is going on. But until people figure out Kip’s connections to a certainly little Lunar boy who is currently on a planet far away… OMEGA will continue to reign.
