A piece that Ben saved? I’ve never seen it shine like this before…~ looks up* What do you want me to do with it? Bring this to King Cecil… so he can beat down the evil, like he did in the last battle of the Crystal Wars!?

Cecil chocobo-head and Chase in the last panel are, indeed, priceless. But still, (moreso in the case of Chase) highly evocative. Not exactly something he’s used to doing, trashing Ben’s possessions.

If you want to be super-technical, Zemi’s actually the father of KluYa in the DS Dimension. However, that’s never stopped Zemi and Aiden from seeing each other as father and son.

What is Zemi to Cecil? What is he to Aur/Chase? How can Chase/Aur not remember?

Zemi would be Cecil and Ben’s grandfather. (BSC, Zeb and Seshiru also claim Zemi as their grandfather, but that’s a different story!)

Chase doesn’t remember his past as Aur just yet — much like in Shimmer, Zemi has bound those memories from him. Though this time, it’s to enable Chase to be able to grow up as a relatively normal child. (Another long story)
