Ben: Do you always have to be so violent?

Leona: Around two Golbei, a ghost Lunarian, and a lecher of a professor? Yep.

Ben: …Good point, I guess? So you still think I’m going to do something to you?

Leona: No… Why should you? At this point, I’m your only minion.

Ben: What? Leona… I don’t have minions!

Leona: Pretty sad for a Dark Lord if you ask me. I mean, come on! I’m not even dark!

Okay, got a minor gripe with this page. The speech bubbles. At first, I thought Ben was saying the “Around two Golbei” part because it was on the same side as his previous bubble. It confused me. ~~;;

Yeah… Unfortunately, it was a little confusing. I was trying to read down instead of side to side.

But the page itself is great… You know I heart the full-page panels! ^_^ This is a good one to show off… I especially like how the silhouette of the cottage fades down into the path. It creates a good sense of distance.

And their poses, as ever when they’re together, are very expressive of their personalities at the moment. Leona’s cocky little arms-behind-head move especially shows off her demeanor.

Any suggestions on how I should place the bubbles so they’d be more understandable? I had a LOT of trouble with figuring out where to put speech on this page.

Gaby sez:

Well there is a sort of “rule” in comics/manga about putting bubbles on the same side as the character who is speaking. Or at least that’s what my teachers kept telling me in my classes.

*shrug* I didn’t have any trouble reading it. … Buuut I don’t know the first thing about stuff like that, so don’t ask me.
BTW, if I knew how to make wallpapers, this would be mine. XD

I thought it would be more confusing to jump from one side to the other, actually. And I didn’t want to cover up the cottage… so those were my two big considerations.
