Kory: I wonder if it wasn’t the fact that they were so emotionally close… that caused the great sundering between them. As Zeb grew older, he wanted to break free of his father’s control, and make his own name, through magic. Aiden was vehemently opposed to this… to the point that it finally came to a rather… explosive head. There was a very big fight… Zeb left Mysidia… for lands untold. That would be the last time I ever saw him.

Ben: Yeah… but… is all this… really worth the passing anger of one fight?

Yikes. Well, I wanted to say… This page came out really well. The background and Zeb walking and all. And Ben and Kory look so clean and purty. How’d ya do the background?

Grass and tree brushes in Photoshop 7 are my best friend. I can’t paint landscape at all… so I have to rely on “cheat” methods… *sigh* Though there’s still a good and bad way of using these brushes. I try to do it in a way that it’s not TOO obvious. I hope. ~~;

I’ve noticed a huge change in your art from the first of these to the most recent - for the better, obviously. You seem to be experimenting with more backgrounds, yes, but also with layout, and expressive feature panels like the silhouette here. Brushes are tools, but it takes skill to set up where stuff goes.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how you develop further…

Thank you Chaos!! I am really trying to keep pushing the limits of the art as I practice Wayrift every week (yes, this is practice for me). I think the bigger page size helps, for one. :}
