Leona: *peers out the door to Ben*
Ben: That’s what I thought… *lifts a hand… a gentle pulse of sparkles rising from his fingertips… tracing a line of energy that only he can see* He’s left an energy trail as plain as day.
Leona: You found it ?
Ben: Yeah. Heh… sloppy rifting. Easier than I thought. *gathering the path of the rift-traces in his mind*
-In the kitchen-
Zeb: *grumbles, looking up from his drink as he senses something* Whaaaat? *slams down his goblet* How dare…!

PRETTY SPARKLES!!!!!
Important message for Zeb Ya, picked up on a radio ham sandwich I found lying half-eaten on the pavement; DEAR ZEB STOP YOU ARE NOT REPEAT NOT GOD KING OF THE MULTIVERSE STOP LEARN TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF STOP SIGNED …..(signature missing due to being eaten)
you know, it is SO hard to read this in Golbez’s Voice XD
I bet so!
Ben and Zeb don’t sound like Golbez of FFIV DS or Dissida, though. *laughs*
yeah ^-^ I can’t help but read it with a much lighter tone in mind, it just fits so much better~
Zeb has a pretty deep voice (though not as deep as that), but Ben is a good deal lighter. I’ve always described his voice as strong and somewhat “golden”… and it has a bit of a lilting accent, too.
ah, I see~
yeah, i must say these characters definitely are quite the bit different from their sources, but in a way that not only flows smoothly but you can still tell it’s them very easily, if that makes any sense ^-^; basically it’s incredibly well done~
Thank you very much! You’re still working through the older stuff. It gets a lot better! ^_^
Both Ben and Zeb were, as I noted, created 20-some years ago. So there was no real source material at that time beyond the sprites on the screen for the game. No real official art or any CG movies for the game.
Because of that, Syn and I had the freedom to imagine up Golbez the way we have — she created Zeb and I created Ben.
Even though new games have come out and added to the original source material, we’ve held on to our versions and have kept doing our thing. There was a time when we could claim that we were within canon to a good degree. I know that’s not true now, but we’ve just accepted that and carried on.
